Pennington is a tranquil little South Coast village only fifteen kilometers to the south of Scottburgh. Pennington was originally a farm owned by the Pennington family and is set in a most attractive forested region along the KZN South Coast.

There is excellent South Coast scuba diving opportunities and trips may be taken to the world famous South Coast Aliwal Shoal just a few kilometers off these attractive beaches. There is good salt and fresh water fishing to be had on and off the South Coast beaches, as well as some excellent and popular south coast surfing spots.

Round about March will see the Pennington Eco Easter Festival take place, running over a period of 6 days with a focus on highlighting various environmental issues such as water and animal conservation, and recycling, while also featuring an interesting variety of family entertainment and activities. Admission to the Pennington Eco Easter festival is free, and festival goers will be taken on a thought provoking, educational experience not to forget featuring a water wise & gardening market, bird watching walks and hikes along the areas magnificent South Coast beaches and various South Coast nature trails, as well as talks on recycling and conservation.

On the entertainment side of the Pennington festival, there will be a wide variety of competitions which will include children's poster making, photography, sand sculpture competitions and even a mountain bike race. Other attractions at the festival include Zulu dancing and choir performances, Zulu Arts & Crafts flea market, a Celebrity Chef cook-off and a treasure hunt.

For food enthusiasts, the Pennington Eco Easter festival will provide much temptation for the taste buds in the form of a good food market, but for those who can't wait to satisfy their appetites, there will also be a Potjiekos competition with live music, food & beer-garden, a fish braai on the Pennington beach, traditional Zulu foods and picnics and bonfires on the Pennington beach. South Coast self catering accommodation in Pennington is fairly popular, especially during school holidays.
